Joshua Griffin

Joshua Josiah Griffin, Candidate for Pasco County Commissioner District 3, entered this world on September 11, in itself a memorable date.  He can proudly admit to having grown up and still residing in Pasco County, a most wonderful and productive county.  Most of his childhood education centers on schools located in Pasco, participating in football, basketball, track and chess.  Upon his transfer to River Ridge High School, Josh went on to graduate with honors, after having proved his leadership strengths by becoming a captain of the football team and  participating by volunteering to serve with the Special Olympic activities.

Unfortunately Josh suffered a major football injury, which canceled his future plans and led him to essentially re-structure the rest of his life.  This led to his application to the University of Tampa where he would graduate having earned a B.A. in Government and World Affairs with a Minor in English and Philosophy. This ultimately led him to develop a desire to help governments “get on track” fiscally and be a successful community for the citizens and future generations.  Josh achieved an advanced education which enabled him to be involved in numerous government based issues, working on a multitude of varied assignments.  These assignments included budget analysis, economic development, infrastructure issues, rural land issues, water solution, and natural resource exploration.

Joshua is currently a Project Manager at Bio Mass Tech Inc. an Environmental Service Company working in “green” product solutions.  His qualifications include; Department of Environmental Protection Storm Water Solutions Inspector with 12 years’ experience in the Erosion Control field. He has worked with many different products of environmental applications, to just name a few, water treatment, sediment clarification, erosion control, hydro-seeding along highways,  dredging of canals, and pervious pavement applications using recycled glass.  American Red Cross CPR certified disaster response and dive certified.  Joshua has worked under contract with FEMA, providing relief   to victims of major natural disasters. This includes working along with state and city officials in various cities and states, on the cleanup and debris removal contracts from hurricane destruction.  He has also provided aid in food service lines. His services include working on large contracts with the Army Corp of Engineers, dredging projects, and hurricane cleanup projects.  Josh continuously works with local governments and municipalities on environmental solution applications.  This has always been one of his passions.

Joshua’s hobbies are boating, fishing, diving, hunting, and sports.  He is mechanically inclined and loves hands-on projects.  His interests are reading, economics, and business.  He has a very good work ethic and no matter what the project or assignment entails, he always delivers a superb finished product.  His passion to do a great job at whatever he embarks on is only superseded by his dedication and commitment to the task at hand.
